Here are the top five stories in Los Angeles today:

  1. The 6th Street Bridge is in the news again. On Friday morning at 2 a.m., someone crashed into the back of a truck that was sitting in a “No Parking” area. For some reason, people stopped, “jumped out of their cars and started climbing up the bridge’s archways.” Already, there is a graffiti removal team at work every day on the bridge. (KTLA)
  2. On Thursday evening, just after 9:30 p.m., there was a shooting outside the CVS Pharmacy near 7th and Spring streets. The LAPD “found two men and a woman with gunshot wounds.” A third injured man had called the police. Two men with whom the people had argued ran away. (Daily News)
  3. As of Thursday, L.A. County has 147 cases of probable and confirmed monkeypox. “Due to the limited number of vaccines, the pre-registration link for monkeypox vaccine has reached capacity and is currently paused.” (LA County Public Health)
  4. Thursday night’s unveiling of the Super Bowl LVI rings had enough sparkle to give you sunburn. “Each ring has approximately 20 carats of white diamonds set in white and yellow gold, to represent the official opening of SoFi Stadium in 2020.” Jason of Beverly Hills was entrusted with the project. (ESPN)
  5. L.A. now has a kosher ice cream truck! La Creme Dairy is the brainchild of Chaim and Mariasha Fyzakov. Serving up Cholov Yisroel ice cream, “a rabbi on site makes sure the milk is coming from a healthy cow, that it’s being processed on kosher equipment and there are no non-kosher ingredients.” We learned on Friday that to keep track of where to find the ice cream, head to WhatsApp or Instagram.
