Barricaded Suspect At West LA Veterans Building Eludes Authorities

A suspect that escaped a police was still on the loose over the weekend.

WEST LOS ANGELES, CA — A suspect at the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Building escaped a Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department barricade and is on the loose Saturday.

Personnel from the LASD's Special Enforcement Bureau arrived at 1:26 a.m. Saturday to the 700 block of Bonsall Avenue, north of the West Los Angeles Veterans Administration Building to assist the United States Department of Veterans Affairs Police with a barricaded suspect, the department reported.

The department 's Crisis Negotiation Team assumed tactical command of the barricade, and attempted to make contact with the suspect, the LASD said.

After several hours, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs Police decided to apprehend the suspect at a later date, according to the LASD.
