📰 Here are the top five stories today in Los Angeles:
1) Six bar patrons, four men and two women, were injured Sunday morning when a 25-year-old man opened fire inside the Holiday Bar. Located at 2471 Whittier Boulevard, witnesses said that an argument broke out and escalated into gunfire. The shooter is in custody. (KTLA)
2) Firefighters were battling a blaze dubbed the Gulch Fire “near Mile Marker 21 along San Gabriel Canyon Road” on Monday. Located near the San Gabriel Dam, the fire, so far, consumed 15 acres of brush. Officials said that “there may be two separate fires burning in the area above Azusa.” (Patch)
3) On Monday, LADOT released its Ventura Boulevard safety overhaul plans. In collaboration with Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, improvements include back-in diagonal parking, “green conflict-zone striping in bike lanes” and three “new high-visibility crosswalks.” These upgrades will be at Ventura and Ponce, Royer, Sale and Fallbrook avenues. (LADOT)
4) Angelino Heights residents have had it with street racing and takeovers. On Friday, there was a protest “against the filming of the new "Fast & Furious" movie in their neighborhood.” Critics of the filming say that “they fear the movie will further glorify and encourage illegal street racing in their neighborhood.” Since the release of the first film in 2001, franchise fans have flocked to the area, such as in front of Bob’s Market, to “perform donuts or burnouts.” “A representative for Councilman Gil Cedillo, who represents Angelino Heights, did not respond to a request for comment on Thursday. Neither did a representative from NBCUniversal.” (The Eastsider LA)
5) Mark your calendars! The California Bridal & Wedding Expo is coming to the L.A. Convention Center on September 18. Plan to head on over to South Hall K between noon and 5 p.m. Best of all, you can get free admission if you register online! (CA Bridal Shows)

- A Laurel Canyon South neighbor is wondering if anyone on Ridpath Drive got a small UPS package misdelivered Saturday evening? (Nextdoor)
- 🚨 Earlier, there was a serious commercial building fire in the 1100 block of West Olympic. The cause is unknown at this time, but the fire has been contained. Montebello Fire and other mutual aid fire agencies responded. (Nextdoor)
- Our neighbor in the Mandeville Canyon area sings the praises of having the BEST car wash today at their home by Hugo 424 345 0577. He detailed three cars today for extremely fair pricing.
