LOS ANGELES, CA — A report of an explosion in downtown LA prompted a fire department response Monday afternoon. While crews were unable to find evidence of a blast, they did locate a burned man several blocks away.

Following a report that there was an explosion in the area and a person had been burned, firefighters responded to a one-story commercial building at the intersection of 12th Street and Stanford Avenue at around noon to find light smoke coming from the rear of the building, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

"After investigating the new construction property, the cause of smoke is undermined. Arson units are responding to investigate," the LAFD said.
