Four-Vehicle Crash in Mead Valley Injures Two

At least one person found lying in the street by paramedics was in serious condition.

MEAD VALLEY, CA — Two people were injured, one seriously, in a four- vehicle collision Thursday at a Mead Valley intersection.

The multi-vehicle crash occurred just after 11 a.m. Thursday at Brown Street and Cajalco Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The agency said three pickups and an SUV impacted, though the exact cause of the collision was uncertain. Both sides of Cajalco were blocked because of the crash.

Riverside County Fire Department crews reached the location within 10 minutes and found one victim laying on the street. However, it didn't appear that the party had been ejected in the collision, according to reports from the scene.

The patient, whose identity was not disclosed, was taken to Riverside University Medical Center in Moreno Valley for treatment of major injuries. The other victim, also not identified, suffered unspecified injuries and was taken to the same facility.

The CHP said that all four vehicles sustained significant damage and required tows.

As of 11:45 a.m., Cajalco remained blocked at the location.

The cause of the crash was under investigation.
