Kaviar Brings Luxurious Dining to DTLA

Kaviar has opened its second LA location in the space formally housed by Simone. The new spot exudes luxury with an entry bar area, dark lighting, private caviar and separate sushi rooms, several displays of beautiful samurai costumes and black walls with Japanese art prints.

Focusing on luxurious high-end ingredients, Kaviar has a unique menu featuring dishes such as toro tartare served tableside with truffle oil, lemon, caviar and 24K gold flakes; shiso tempura with uni and caviar; Kaluga caviar service and A5 Wagyu steak with shaved truffle.

Starters include Hamachi crudo, yellowtail ceviche, Maguro crispy rice, tacos crudo with albacore sashimi and a wide variety of sushi and sashimi. Diners should definitely order a few of their signature rolls including the mango chili hirame roll with serrano, yuzu, mango and lemon; lemon roll with salmon, yuzu and asparagus; Wagyu shisito roll with garlic shishito, wagagyu, black truffle and caviar; amberjack bluefin tuna roll with amberjack, gbuefin tuna and yuzu and the coconut mango roll with shrimp tempura, avocado, toasted coconut and cream cheese.

Hot dishes include baked lobster with garlic aioli; salmon with a soy mustard; uni past; miso glazed black cod and Denver Wagyu with truffle butter.

There’s also a good selection of sake and whiskey and plenty of specialty cocktails.

We loved the Rising Sun with jalapeno and wasabi infused tequila, grapefruit, lime and prickly pear; Kaviar Mule with ginger beer, lime and tequila; and the Emerald City with cucumber, yuzu, ginger, lime and torched rosemary.

Ending the meal was a beautiful tea presentation that we paired with a delicious berry cheesecake.
