LA County Teacher, Coach Charged With Possession of Child Porn

LOS ANGELES, CA — A Pasadena man who works as a teacher and youth soccer coach in the Arcadia area was charged Friday with possession of child pornography.

Justin Yasutake, 39, was arrested Tuesday by Arcadia police, who said he worked as a teacher and girls soccer coach for roughly 20 years. He was charged with a single felony count of possession of child or youth pornography. According to the District Attorney's Office, the criminal complaint alleges that he possessed more than 600 images of child sexual abuse, including some of a minor under 12 years old.

Police said they searched Yasutake's electronic devices and found numerous videos and images of underage girls engaged in sexual activity.

Yasutake is free on bail. He is scheduled to be arraigned Dec. 23 in downtown Los Angeles.

Police said that given the length of time Yasutake has worked with children, that others may have been victimized.
