LAPD Officer's Chilling Theory About Missing Woman
An LAPD officer believes Nancy Paulikas could be held in an elderly care facility somewhere under suspicious circumstances.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA -- A Manhattan Beach woman with Alzheimer's disease, who went missing in October 2016, could be living in an elderly care facility somewhere. A Los Angeles Police Department officer who is volunteering his service to find Nancy Paulikas told the Los Angeles Times he believes that's a possibility.
Nancy Paulikas wandered away from her family at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art in October 2016 and still has not been found.
Paulikas' husband, Kirk Moody, said her family continues to search for her daily. After wandering away from him during a trip to the ladies' room at the museum, she "disappeared without a trace," Moody said, leaving the family wondering if she was in a residential care center as a Jane Doe.

Officer Mike Goldberg told the Times "Someone may have spotted Paulikas on the street, disoriented or in distress, after her disappearance."
"She might have been transported by emergency responders to a hospital that realized there'd be no way to get reimbursed for Paulikas' care," the Times article read. "So she could have been shipped to a care facility or a homeless shelter, not necessarily with her best interests in mind."

Goldberg, who decided to help Moody solve the case after seeing a flier for Paulikas, said "You've heard of patient dumping."
