  1. A Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) patrol car collided with a dark-colored Volkswagen SUV close to the intersection of Wilshire and Hauser boulevards. The accident happened Thursday morning around 1:34 a.m. According to the SUV’s driver, “the officers ran a traffic light with no sirens or lights, then collided with his vehicle.” Two officers were transported to the hospital, and the LAPD did not comment at the time. 2. The Los Angeles City Council is considering giving people living in RVs $500 Visa gift cards to get them to accept housing placement. We learned on Thursday that a pilot program is already ongoing in Council District 7 (Sylmar, Pacoima, Sunland-Tujunga, North Hills and La Tuna Canyon). Councilmember Monica Rodriguez reported that the program “was successful in removing 20 RVs off city streets and housing 25 homeless individuals, with another 12 enrolled and waiting for housing placement, between Feb. 1 and Sept. 15.” At this time, the City Council is on holiday break until next year. 3. Firmin Court at 418-430 North Firmin Street “is all but finished.” Wednesday’s update outlines that the property is seven stories tall and features “45 units of permanent supportive housing and 19 apartments for low-income households.” While projected rents for “the general affordable units at Firmin Court are set at $1,470 per month,” the application process is already closed. 4. Do you want to own the North Linden Drive mansion where gangster “Bugsy” Siegel was murdered? We learned on Tuesday that the seven-bedroom Spanish Colonial-style mansion can be yours for $16.995 million. “You walk in the entry with the staircase and the balcony and all of that has been completely maintained just the way it was done in 1928. Even the bathrooms are the original,” the listing agent explained. (Hollywood Reporter)
  5. Celebrating the Winter Solstice on December 21, Doritos will debut its “Doritos After Dark” menu with a pop-up shop at 4 p.m. sharp. No, they won’t tell us where; all we know is that it will be in L.A. You have to make a reservation online. If you don’t care about attending the unveiling in person, you can also order the menu via several food delivery services. (KTLA)
