This SoCal Airport Has One Of America's Least-Safe Baggage Claims: Ranking

The airport came in second on the list.

LOS ANGELES — Los Angeles International Airport has the second-least safe baggage claim in America, according to a recent ranking.

Airline compensation company AirAdvisor compiled the ranking to determine where travelers are most likely to have their bag stolen, taking into account Google search instances for lost luggage, distance from gate to baggage claim, Google rating, negative Yelp reviews and passenger volume.

According to the ranking, the least safe baggage claims are at No. 1-ranked Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport followed by Los Angeles International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, respectively.

One other California airport — San Francisco International Airport — was among those with the 10 least-safe baggage claims at No. 8.

Other major Southern California airports such as John Wayne Airport, Hollywood Burbank Airport and San Diego International Airport did not appear in the ranking.

The country’s safest baggage claim is at Helena Regional Airport in Montana, according to AirAdvisor.
