NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CA — A man in his 20s was shot to death near East Valley High School in North Hollywood, authorities said Sunday.

The shooting occurred just after 9 p.m. Saturday near Vineland Avenue and Chandler Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. Police said the victim was approached by two suspects. One of them shot the victim before both fled the scene on foot.

Paramedics rushed the young man to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

It was not immediately known if the shooting was gang-related.
