Man Who Raped UCLA Exchange Student In Dorm Sentenced To 10 Years
A man who sexually assaulted a UCLA student in her dorm this summer pleaded no contest to his charges and was sentenced to prison.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man who sexually assaulted an exchange student in her University of California, Los Angeles dorm this summer has been sentenced to 10 years in prison, according to the university's police department.
Jeffery Stott Brewer Jr., 41, pleaded no contest to charges of sexual assault and residential burglary, according to police. Brewers' no contest plea skips the trial and sends the case directly to sentencing.
According to law enforcement, Brewer was loitering outside a UCLA student housing building before entering the building at around 1:30 a.m. on July 5. Inside, Brewer knocked on one apartment door and entered when the student inside opened the door.

University police arrested Brewer hours later that same day.
"The brutal and violent sexual assault experienced by this survivor at the hands of the alleged suspect is profoundly disturbing and unfathomable, and will not be tolerated," District Attorney Gascón said in July.
