'Naked' Dogs Rescued From Silicon Valley Hoarder Need Home
A group of 24 dogs were rescued recently, and now they need a new home.
SILICON VALLEY, CA -- A group of dogs were rescued from a local hoarder recently and now the Humane Society of Silicon Valley is trying to find them homes. The nonprofit wrote in a blog post that the dogs were "regal and hairless, like a band of naked mole rats with only slightly more dignity."
"We took in 24 dogs - and a number of them were of the au naturel variety," the blog post read. "And while these unclad muffins may be a little more sensitive to the cold than most kids, they're super sweet."
The dogs were a part of a larger group of dogs rescued from a reported hoarder in Santa Clara, said Alexandra Baggs, a spokeswoman for the Humane Society of Silicon Valley.

Although it may look like the dogs were shaved, it's actually their natural appearance.
"A number of the dogs were Mexican Hairless or Chinese Crested breeds (which are hairless breeds)," Baggs said. "The dogs weren’t shaved, it’s just part of the breed."

Various photos of the four-legged animals were shared on the blog post, including images of dogs named Dignity and Monkey.
To adopt one of the adorable pups at the Humane Society Silicon Valley, which has rescued hundreds of animals each year for the past 85 years, it is $175.
In the meantime, the dogs are living in comfort at Humane Society Silicon Valley, which is apparently the only shelter that meets all 543 “must, should and ideal” standards set forth by the Association of Shelter Veterinarians.
