The Los Altos Police log for Nov. 8 had two catalytic converter thefts, the first in a long time, but surely not the last, since the market for precious metals is good.

• 7:28 a.m., 1100 block of Miguel Avenue; grand theft, cold report, theft of catalytic converter overnight
• 11:37 a.m., 1600 block of Alexander Way, grand theft, cold report, theft of catalytic converter overnight

Found Property

• 7:44 a.m., walk-in, Foothill Expressway and Homestead Road; found property, wallet

Trespass

• 8:21 a.m., 2175 Grant Road (Lucky); trespasser, subject contacted and admonished

Suspicious Vehicle

• 9:25 a.m., 303 Second Street; suspicious vehicle, unfounded, associated with construction project

Traffic Collision

• 11:17 a.m., N. San Antonio Road and Angela Drive; non-injury traffic accident
• 1:25 p.m., Foothill Expressway and El Monte Avenue; major injury accident, report taken

Burglary Attempt

• 1:19 p.m. 1000 block of Loma Prieta Court; attempted burglary, report taken

Abandoned Bicycle

• 4:17 p.m., Almond Avenue and Valencia Drive; abandoned bicycle

Drunken Driver Report
