NUMU Shadowbox Altar Workshop Features Top Redwood City Artist

Kit Davey will show wannabe, budding shadowbox artists Sunday how to create their own extraordinary piece of art and a conversation piece.

LOS GATOS, CA — Residents and visitors to Los Gatos may learn about the unique nature of shadowbox altar art through a special class at NUMU taught by top San Francisco Bay Area artist Kit Davey.

During Sunday's workshop scheduled from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., students will learn how to unveil the secrets of this 3-dimensional art form by constructing their own. Beginners are welcome, and no experience is necessary.

The workshop cost is $120 for NUMU non-members; $100 for members with a $10 materials fee.

The accomplished Redwood City artist, who specializes in book and paper arts, applies layers of paper and interesting objects found to cigar boxes to create depth and an extraordinary narrative resulting in an original work of art.
