Billing Issues: Provider Explains Electricity Bill Discrepancies
Clean Power Alliance, the city's electricity provider, explained billing issues reported by Malibu residents.
MALIBU, CA — Clean Power Alliance, the city's electricity provider, explained additional charges on residents' electricity bills for the month of January.
Many Malibu residents noticed their electricity bill was higher than normal in January, according to the city.
A billing coordination issue between the electricity provider and Southern California Edison resulted in many residents being undercharged for the month of December, the provider said in a statement. These charges were then added to residents' January bill.

Residents will not be charged late fees or penalties for this delayed bill. Residents can make payment arrangements by calling SCE at 800-950-2356. Clean Power Alliance can also help residents make payments over the phone at 888-585-3788 or by email at customerservice@cleanpoweralliance.org.

"CPA is committed to serving our communities, and we realize that an unexpected charge may be difficult for many customers, especially with so many families and businesses still impacted by the economic fallout of COVID-19. We will work with you to navigate your payment options," Clean Power Alliance wrote in a statement.
