Hyposcrisy Added to Malibu Mayor Stewart's Foibles

Continues To Deflect Cyber Crime Charges With Pieties

Add hypocrisy to the growing list of pieties marking the misanthropic mayoral tenure of Doug Stewart.

Dismissing as absurd charges of his involvement in defaming residents, though hard evidence has indicated otherwise, Stewart instead has haughtily called for a political discourse in Malibu of mutual respect and civility.

Such discourse is commendable, but to be constructive it requires all parties to be forthright, honest and unreservedly transparent, and further, have a modicum of intelligence to weigh and debate issues.

Frankly, none of these attributes have been demonstrated to date by Stewart in his fumblingly freshman months of public service, only obfuscation and falsehoods, delivered with the obnoxious aplomb of a banker.

To think if one declaratively expresses outrage, as Stewart has, that the falsehoods might prevail is very much out of the perjurious playbook of the big liar himself, convicted felon Donald Trump.

Whatever, this spoiled adolescent behavior by Stewart is really unbecoming in a public official, while not incidentally mimicking his colleague, Councilman Paul Grisanti.

Being a councilperson takes more than putting on a tie and false smile, or nodding one’s head in agreement, like a dodo bird, or dismissing discourse they don’t understand as reading the telephone book, as Stewart did recently cutting off a Council discussion.

Reflecting Stewart’s obtuseness is his servile surrogate on the Planning Commission, Drew Leonard, who has a history of defaming and threatening residents in his heedless crusade to over develop and devalue Malibu.

For it appears in Stewart’s convoluted dismissal in the last City Council meeting of any involvement of cyber crimes, contrary to evidence, there were unwitting clues that central to this sad Stewart episode is Leonard.

To note, it was several years ago that Leonard accessed and then misread our family’s personal financial records in a farcical attempt to defame and intimidate us, only to apparently repeat it again as a surrogate for Stewart.

Stewart has two more years to embarrass himself and Malibu before his tenure is up, and to decide whether to run for reelection.

If he does, we would then have the opportunity to reject him at the polls, just as we have the opportunity in the upcoming local election to defeat his political twin, Paul Grisanti, less a dodo bird than a real estate vulture.
