MALIBU, CA — Officials are in the early stages of developing plans to reuse five city-owned vacant lots.

The Planning Commission on March 18 will discuss the development of an outreach strategy to ensure officials are effectively engaging community members when it comes to soliciting ideas for the reuse of the properties.

The outreach effort seeks to identify top priorities for the future use of the city's vacant properties and develop a master plan for them. The effort is being conducted by Tripepi Smith & Associates, which was awarded a contract for the work by the City Council on Feb. 12, according to city documents.
