Malibu Search and Rescue to Conduct Helicopter Training

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Malibu Search and Rescue Team will conduct its annual helicopter recertifying training Sunday in Malibu Creek State Park.

The helicopter, known as LASD "Air Rescue 5," is scheduled to arrive at Malibu Creek State Park at 9:30 a.m. Sunday.

Team members will practice rappelling from the helicopter 100 feet off the ground, doing litter evacuations, and “winch outs,” according to David Katz, a spokesman for Malibu SAR.
