Malibu Seeks Input For Use Of 5 Vacant Lots
The city is exploring how to best make use of 61 acres of vacant lots across Malibu.

MALIBU, CA — Sitting on five vacant lots of prime real estate, Malibu is seeking community input on how the city should best make use of the 61 acres of open space.
City officials are in the process of identifying top priorities for the future use of the vacant properties and develop a master plan for them.

- 9.29 acres at 23575 Civic Center Way — used for the Chili Cook-Off
- 1.11 acres at 23800 Civic Center Way — the triangle between Pacific Coast Highway, Civic Center Way and Webb Way
- 19 acres at 29136 Pacific Coast Highway — the Heathercliff Lot
- 29.67 acres at 6103 Trancas Canyon Road
- 2.3 acres at 23467 Civic Center Way, along La Paz Lane
The city has launched a dedicated website to provide information about the project, dubbed Malibu Community Lands.
In an effort to promote robust community engagement, the city is using the FlashVote platform to collect options through short one-minute surveys that will be distributed every few months.
