Malibu Homicide Investigation Closes Mulholland Highway For Hours

Part of Mulholland Highway was closed Thursday morning after a body was found.

MALIBU, CA — Mulholland Highway closed in both directions Thursday morning for a homicide investigation, authorities said.

An adult man's body was found in the 33100 block of Mulholland Highway around 7:45 a.m., according to the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department, Lost Hills Sheriff Station. The death was being investigated as a homicide.

The man was pronounced dead on the scene, authorities said.

Information was not immediately available on the identity or cause of death, although investigators said there were "no obvious signs of trauma." Sheriff's officials originally reported the body was a woman, but they said Thursday afternoon it was that of a man.

There was no indication of a threat to the public, according to the Lost Hills Station.
