Woman Rescued By Helicopter After Crashing Into Malibu Ravine

A helicopter hoisted a woman out of a ravine in the Santa Monica Mountains following a crash Monday morning.

MALIBU, CA — A woman was hospitalized after the car she was traveling went over the side of an embankment and into a ravine in the mountains above Malibu Monday morning.

Firefighters and paramedics were dispatched at around 11:20 a.m. to the 2900 block of Sequit Drive in the mountainous El Nido area, according to a Los Angeles County Fire Department public information officer.

The vehicle went at least 300 to 400 feet over the side of a cliff with witnesses saying they heard someone yelling from the crash scene, ABC 7 reported.

A woman was hoisted by helicopter out of the ravine and transported to a local hospital for treatment, according to KTLA.
