Carjacking Suspects Lead Police On Chase: Manhattan Beach Crime

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The following is the most recent Manhattan Beach Police Department crime summary.
From Feb. 6 to 12 there were:
- 735 calls for service
- 16 arrests
- 13 traffic collisions

- Manhattan Beach police responded to a report of a stolen vehicle within city limits on Feb. 11 at about 2:48 a.m. Officers found the vehicle, which was reportedly carjacked in another city, in the area of 26th Street and Manhattan Avenue and performed a high-risk vehicle stop. The driver sped away from police, leading them on a vehicle pursuit, before crashing into a center divider. The suspects then continued into a building in the 3700 block of Highland Avenue, according to MBPD. Officers found a loaded semiautomatic handgun inside the vehicle. The police agency in the city where the car was reported stolen arrived at the scene with the victim, who positively identified both suspects. Both suspects were arrested.
