COVID-19 Continues Slow But Daily Rise in Manhattan Beach

On May 20th, Manhattan Beach had 74 cases of COVID-19 in the city. Today that number is at 180 positive cases.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — COVID-19 in Manhattan Beach jumped from 173 to 180 cases today, according to the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. The slow trend upward in the city comes as public health officials nationwide are seeing huge increases in COVID-19 numbers. The one-day increase from Tuesday to Wednesday was four new cases, going from 169 to 173.

Back on May 20, Manhattan Beach had 74 cases. On June 1, the city recorded 80. On June 24, LA County data reported 105 cases in Manhattan Beach. Then on June 27, the number rose to 121. The ongoing uptick is in stark contrast to when stay-at-home orders and only visiting "essential" businesses kept MB's COVID-19 rate steady at 72 cases.
