Do You Remember Buddy The Blind Sea Lion, Manhattan Beach?
Buddy, a blind 700-lb. sea lion, was rescued in Manhattan Beach in 2016. Marine Mammal Care Center rehabilitated him. Any idea where he is?
MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — It's a story with a happy ending. Though he wound up needing to be rescued when he came to shore in Manhattan Beach in July of 2016, Buddy, the blind 700-lb. sea lion, was the focus of a recent tweet.
That tweet gives away the place Buddy has called home since 2017 after 10 months of rehabilitation at the Marine Mammal Care Center Los Angeles.
If you guessed California sea lion to yesterday's #PopQuiz, you were correct! Buddy was discovered in Manhattan Beach in 2016, malnourished and blind. After the @TMMC rescued and rehabilitated him, the L.A. Zoo was able to give Buddy a permanent home. : Robin Savoian pic.twitter.com/xk9epO6bLN
