Free Webinar Addresses COVID-19 Health Protocols For Businesses

Own a business? Learn how to successfully navigate COVID-19 health protocols and instill confidence in your employees and customers.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce is hosting a free webinar to help businesses [and others] know the proper COVID-19 health protocols they should take on behalf of their customers and employees. Businesses armed with this vital information will be better equipped to navigate the coronavirus and keep their business [and people] as safe as possible.

"Public Health: The Facts, The Options, and a Plan of Action" is set for Wednesday, July 8 beginning at 9 a.m. A panel of experts from Kaiser Permanente, Beach Cities Health District, and Healthstar Technologies will provide information on how to gain consumer [and employee] confidence by executing proper health protocols. The webinar will educate business owners on the tools and resources available to help them mitigate COVID-19 and survive during the pandemic.

Discussion topics include "COVID-19 Return To Work Playbook," a look at the "Safe in the South Bay Pledge," and "Health On Demand Virtual Clinic." The "Safe in the South Bay" program has been created for restaurants and businesses in El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Manhattan Beach and Redondo Beach. The Chambers of Commerce from those cities have partnered with BCHD to provide health guidance and a self-certification process related to Los Angeles County's Safer at Work and in the Community Health Officer Order.

"The actions of residents and our local businesses will determine how long COVID-19 will impact our community," said Tom Bakaly, CEO of BCHD. "My hope is this program will act as a reminder to businesses and consumers of the health actions necessary to allow these businesses to reopen while we're still dealing with the pandemic."

The Safe in the South Bay seal is a way for consumers to easily identify businesses who have, in good faith, completed the self-certification process to reopen, said Kelly Stroman, CEO and president of the Manhattan Beach Chamber of Commerce. Wednesday's webinar will cover the program and so much more.

Advance registration for the free webinar "Public Health: The Facts, The Options, and a Plan of Action" is necessary. Once registered, participants will receive the Zoom information to participate online.
