MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — Here's the anticipated travel route for Manhattan Beach Police vehicles participating in National Night Out from 5-8 p.m. tonight. In years past, the event has had a tremendous response in Manhattan Beach, with neighborhoods holding barbecues, pizza dinners, dessert gatherings for MBPD officers and staff to hang out with them for a bit. COVID-19 has changed up the routine and MBPD will drive through the city and stop for short periods of time to hand out badge stickers to kids.

  • From the downtown Manhattan Beach police station near City Hall, MBPD will travel north on Highland Avenue to Rosecrans Avenue.
  • They will turn inland on Rosecrans and hits the "majors" in that area, like Blanche and Pacific avenues.
  • They will cross Sepulveda Boulevard and head to the Senior Villas.
  • From that location, they will take a back route through Manhattan Village shopping center and go into the residential Manhattan Village.
  • From there, they expect to travel Meadows Avenue through residential neighborhoods.
  • Closer to Mira Costa High School, they will use Peck and Redondo avenues as "majors" to traverse that area.
  • After that, they will wrap up their evening in Area 2.
