Resident Confronts Intruder; Manhattan Beach Police Make Arrest

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A burglar entered a home in the 4200 block of The Strand last night, setting off a series of actions that led to his capture. The male entered the home through an unlocked door sometime just before 7:40 p.m. and was confronted by a resident at some point.

The suspect fled the home and Manhattan Beach Police officers "quickly arrived, located the suspect running through the El Porto [parking] lot and took him into custody without incident, said Sergeant Tim Zins of the MBPD.

Police found a package that had been stolen from the residence. The suspect was booked for 459 PC – residential burglary.
