Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In Manhattan Beach
Manhattan Beach police are investigating a fatal crash between a car and a pedestrian that shut down Sepulveda Boulevard Monday morning.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — A pedestrian was killed in a car crash that shut down a section of Sepulveda Boulevard in Manhattan Beach for approximately six hours Monday morning.
The Manhattan Beach Police Department received a report of a traffic collision in the 900 block of Sepulveda Boulevard that involved a pedestrian. When police arrived, they saw witnesses performing life-saving measures on a man.
"Unfortunately, the pedestrian succumbed to his injuries at the scene," MBPD said in a statement.

According to police, the driver of the vehicle remained on scene and provided a statement to investigators. Sepulveda Boulevard was shut down from 2nd Street to 9th Street while the investigation took place.
MBPD said alcohol and drugs are not believed to have been factors in this collision.

The victim's identity was withheld pending notification of his next of kin by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner/Coroner.
