Rise Of COVID-19 In Manhattan Beach Seems To Have Slowed Down

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The City of Manhattan Beach has 258 cases of COVID-19, according to the latest data from the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. On July 25th, the number for the city was 249.

Historically, on May 20, just before the County reopened, the city had 74 cases; on June 27, the city had 121; on July 10, MB had 194 cases; on July 20, 228 cases, and on July 23rd, the city registered 238 cases. Deaths in the city from the coronavirus remain at 4.

The city now has a mask mandate, requiring all who are outside their homes to wear a facial covering or risk a fine. City Council is working on making adjustments to what many have called too broad of an order.

Restaurants throughout Manhattan Beach feature outdoor dining and to-go and delivery options, from the downtown area to North Manhattan Beach to Manhattan Village to eateries on Sepulveda Boulevard, and Rosecrans and Aviation boulevards.

In addition, the city has made allowances for certain personal care uses, fitness establishments, gyms, hair salons and barbershops to operate outdoors in public and private areas.
