Utah Jazz Center Jeff Withey Cleared Of Domestic Violence Charge In Manhattan Beach
Prosecutors dropped the charges after investigators determined the NBA star acted in self-defense.

MANHATTAN BEACH, CA — The Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office has declined charges against Utah Jazz center Jeff Withey over the allegations of domestic violence against NBA star by his former fiancee.
Manhattan Beach police investigated Withey last month after the accusation was reportedly filed by Withey's ex-fiancee, Playboy Playmate of the Year, Kennedy Summers, according to TMZ.
TMZ was the first to report the DA has dropped the charges against the basketball star. Withey's attorney Alan Jackson has said the accusations were a "calculated attempt" to damage Withey's reputation by an angry ex-girlfriend.

In a statement to TMZ, Jackson said, "We are thankful the DA recognized that."
The Manhattan Beach police investigators found that Summers and Withey were in an altercation in July 2016 where Withey injured Summers, but it was Summers who initiated the altercation and the injuries were consistent of self-defense, according to TMZ.

The charges were dropped after investigators brought the evidence to the DA's office.
