Authorities Respond To Fire At Martinez Refinery
"At this time no immediate threat to public health has been detected," Contra Costa Health said.

MARTINEZ, CA — Contra Costa Health and Contra Costa Fire were responding to reports of a fire Tuesday at Martinez Refining Company.
Some near the refinery may notice light smoke, county health officials said on Twitter.
Hazardous materials — hazmat— personnel were monitoring air quality in the area.

A structure fire was reported at 12:37 p.m. Tuesday at 2000 Marina Vista Ave., according to the Pulsepoint cellphone app. Firefighters remained on the scene as of 2 p.m.
"At this time no immediate threat to public health has been detected," county health officials said on Twitter. "CCH will continue to monitor the air for the duration of the incident."

The Martinez Refining Company confirmed its in-house fire department responded to "smoldering material in out-of-service equipment."
"At approximately 12:00 pm today, the Martinez Refining Company Fire Department quickly responded to smoldering material in out-of-service equipment," the refinery said on its Facebook page. "There were no injuries, and operations are unaffected. Notifications were made to local agencies. As always, we would like to thank our outstanding personnel, who immediately responded."
