Recent Refinery Events Prompt Martinez Town Hall Meeting

A virtual town hall is planned for Monday. Here's what to know.

MARTINEZ, CA — With several recent events at the Martinez Refining Company impacting the community and causing concern, the City of Martinez is hosting a Town Hall at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19.

The city will provide information on the events and take questions and comments from the community.

Martinez Mayor Brianne Zorn and District 5 County Supervisor Federal Glover will be on hand, along with several local government agencies and the Martinez Refining Company.

"There will be additional opportunities for the community to be heard over time, but the City wants to facilitate communication early in the investigatory process of recent events so that the interests of Martinez and our neighboring communities are well represented and protected," city officials said.

The meeting is scheduled to be streamed live on Zoom.
