Letterman's former announcer and the current stadium voice of the San Francisco 49ers sits down with Dave in advance of a pair of appearances at downtown arts hub.
Bay Area entertainer Bob Sarlatte, the field announcer for the San Francisco 49ers for the past 29 years, is set to make a pair of appearances at 142 Throckmorton Theatre over the next week or so, and the downtown Mill Valley arts hub garnered some national TV attention last week as a result.
Sarlatte was the announcer for David Letterman's short-lived morning comedy show on NBC show in 1980, and he's been a regular guest on Letterman's shows ever since, from Late Night on NBC to the Late Show on CBS. Sarlatte was a Late Show guest on March 18, Sarlatte's hairline and his stint as a youth basketball coach.
After the interview and a commercial break, Letterman said he forgot to mention that Sarlatte would be appearing March 26 at the 142 Throckmorton, which he called "a very famous venue" that regularly features the likes of Robin Williams and Dana Carvey.
