Officers at around 10 a.m. Sunday responded to the Shell gas station at 295 Sir Francis Drake Blvd. in Greenbrae on the report of a man in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle who appeared to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol and was slamming his head against the steering wheel, police said.
CMPA officers and a CHP officer contacted the man sitting in the driver’s seat of a BMW station wagon with no license plates.

As officers evaluated the driver for being under the influence, he attempted to start the vehicle against the officers’ orders.
“Due to the subject continuing to start the vehicle, his refusal to exit the vehicle, and his objective systems of being under the influence of drugs and/or alcohol, officers attempted to physically remove him from the driver’s seat,” police said in a news release.
“The subject immediately resisted and fought the officers attempt to remove him from the vehicle to prevent his flight. His combative behavior caused minor injuries to two CMPA officers and one CHP officer.”
Officers determined the vehicle had been reported stolen out of Fairfax, police said.
