Mill Valley Extends Outdoor Dining Program: Report

The temporary extension is for five months, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

MILL VALLEY, CA — The city of Mill Valley has extended its outdoor dining program for five months, The Marin Independent Journal reports.

The city created the program in 2020 amid the pandemic but it was set to expire June 30. The program will now run through October without additional extensions.

About 30 city businesses participate in the program, City Manager Alan Piombo told the news outlet.

The long-term future of outdoor dining in Mill Valley remains uncertain.

“We’re extending it again to give us time to plan out what we’re doing next,” Councilmember Urban Carmel said, according to the report.
