Whether its chocolate eating, pub crawling, art appreciating, or reading in rhymes – there are plenty of things to do in and around Mill Valley this weekend. Check out these 5 weekend Patch picks.

1. Octoberfest in Tiburon
Don your lederhosen and dirndls and celebrate Oktoberfest at a special Friday Night on Main in Tiburon. Closed to traffic for the evening, Main Street will be reminiscent of a Bavarian biergarten, creating a wunderbar atmosphere in which to dine outdoors. Enjoy live music from the popular Karl Lebherz Band, performing traditional German music and polkas. Oktoberfest beers and bratwursts will be available for purchase.

2. Mill Valley Art Salon Opening
Enjoy two wonderful days of beautiful art, music and poetry that inspire the soul. Visit the studio of Heather Martin in Mill Valley on Saturday, September 14 (4-10 pm) and Sunday, September 15 (12-5 pm). Guests are invited to listen and share in the music 8-10 pm on Saturday, and offer or listen to poetry at 3 pm on Sunday. John Ballentine will be reading his personal poetry and other guests are welcome to participate.
3. Mill Valley Surf Film Festival featuring Mason Jennings with Haroula Rose
SET ONE FILMS 5:30pm- 6:45pm: Party Mix, The Present Moment, New England Blood, ALMOST CUT MY HAIR. SET TWO FILMS 7pm- 8:15pm: Martin's Beach, Variables, NORTH CANYON: NAZARE CALLING. Plus acoustic music on the patio! Check out Alana Newman at 5pm and John Elliot at 6pm. 9pm Concert
