Fire Destroys Mission Viejo Garage
Orange County firefighters were able to keep the blaze from spreading to the attached home.

MISSION VIEJO, CA — A fire tore through the garage of a home in Mission Viejo Sunday night, but Orange County firefighters managed to keep the flames from spreading.
The fire was reported shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday in the 24000 block of Apehna Avenue, according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The blaze threatened the attacked two-story home.

"Our crews immediately began an aggressive fire with a simultaneous search of the structure for victims. The great news on this is two things: one, there were no victims inside, and two, we were able to contain the fire to the garage, saving the rest of the home." said Orange County Fire Authority Public Information Officer Greg Barta.
The cause of the blaze remains under investigation.
