MISSION VIEJO, CA - Memorial Day has finally arrived, promising a much-needed break, burger and trip to the beach to kick off the unofficial start of the summer. But will the weather in Mission Viejo allow for an outdoor barbecue?

Leading up to the weekend will see some gloomy weather, Friday through Monday early in the day before giving way to the sun.

Temperatures will be in the high-60s and low-70s through Memorial Day weekend in Mission Viejo before jumping to 80 degrees on Tuesday, according to AccuWeather’s forecast.

Although the skies will be partly cloudy, don’t forget to pack sunscreen.

The max ultraviolet index level in the Mission Viejo area will sit at 11 Sunday and Monday, meaning a fair-skinned person could suffer sunburns within minutes if not protected.
