Carjacker Leads Police On 2-Hour Chase Through LA County Mountains: LAPD
The chase began in Sunland and ended in the Antelope Valley over two hours later Wednesday morning, according to the LAPD.
LOS ANGELES, CA — A man was arrested Wednesday morning after he committed a carjacking in Sunland and led police on a chase through the mountains and into the Antelope Valley, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
The carjacking was first reported at around 6:19 a.m. on the 8500 block of Foothill Boulevard in Sunland. Police pursued the suspect through the Angeles National Forest and into the Antelope Valley, where he drove into oncoming traffic and through construction zones and hit at least two other drivers along the way, KTLA reported.
The man drove the white Ford pickup truck into a residential neighborhood in Lancaster, where he abandoned the vehicle at around 8:45 a.m. He was captured at the end of a foot pursuit, police said.
