4 Teens Suspected Of Attacking Man In RV: Mountain View Police

Mountain View police believe the assault may have been gang-related.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — Four teenagers were arrested Saturday on suspicion of a possible gang-related attack last week in Mountain View which left a Sunnyvale man with injuries. Police responded to Rengstorff Park at 8:20 p.m. on July 12 after a 16-year-old Mountain View boy reported that multiple suspects had attempted to attack him in two locations.

The victim he was walking in an undisclosed location when suspects inside a Chrysler sedan and a Honda sedan attempted to attack him. Police spokeswoman Katie Nelson said the boy was not injured in the attempted attack.

A short while later, he said he was sitting with a family member in the parking lot of Rengstorff Park when someone drove up in a gray Honda, a teenager jumped out and allegedly threatened the victim and attempted to attack him.

After the Honda was gone, the victim said he went to a family member's RV on Crisanto Avenue where he found blood and "signs of another attack," according to police.

Police said the victim of the RV attack was a 19-year-old Sunnyvale man, who is currently at a hospital receiving treatment.

Two suspects allegedly came into the RV and hit him in the face multiple time with pistols. Police said the victim suffered wounds to his hands and face.

Police said they were investigating a report of a person with a gun at 8:45 p.m. on Saturday near Rengstorff Park when they identified the Chrysler associated with the original attack.

Officers conducted a "high risk traffic stop" and detained two 16-year-old Mountain View residents and Cesar Rosas, 18, of Mountain View.

Officers found two guns in the car that matched descriptions of the pistols used in the RV attack, according to police.

One 16-year-old was arrested on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm in a car and carrying a loaded firearm in a vehicle or public place.

The other teenager and Rosas were arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, burglary, brandishing a firearm, terrorist threats and additional offenses in the alleged RV attack.

Rosas is also facing a gang enhancement on any potential charges, according to police.

On Tuesday afternoon, police arrested a fourth suspect in the RV assault. Alberto Ibarra-Vallejo, 19, was arrested in the 1000 block of Space Park Way on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, brandishing a firearm and possible gang enhancements.
