73-Year-Old Pedestrian Killed In Mountain View

The driver is cooperating with police.

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA — A 73-year-old man died after getting hit by a vehicle in Mountain View early Wednesday morning, according to police.

Around 5:30 a.m., officers were alerted to a report of a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian in the area of El Camino Real and Escuela Avenue, the Mountain View Police Department said in a statement.

When they arrived, they found a male pedestrian with severe injuries. First responders gave medical treatment to him, but he was later pronounced dead.

The pedestrian was initially identified as a 73-year-old Mountain View resident.

Police said the driver of the involved vehicle stayed in the area and cooperated with them. Drugs and alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
