Los Altos resident Angela Horine shared this image with Mountain View Patch. It's of author Chitra Baneerjee Divakaruni who appeared this past March 18 at in Mountain View during her most recent book tour.

The novelist has two new books—Oleander Girl and Grandma and the Great Gourd—which transport the readers to the colorful and culturally rich nation of India.

Horine described the author as "a lovely, smart, compassionate, talented person."

Divakaruni teaches creative writing at the University of Houston. She formerly lived in Fremont.
