Mountain View Bus Shuttles Make Changes
The changes that started Monday focus on routing improvements and simplifying the schedule.

MOUNTAIN VIEW - The 100% electric and free-to-use Mountain View Community Shuttles are making changes to improve operations and better serve riders, according to information released by the agency.
The changes that started Monday focus on routing improvements and simplifying the schedule.
Based on ridership demand, service to the stops at Shoreline/Pear and Shoreline/Middlefield #2 will only occur on weekends and holidays. These changes improve the shuttle’s on-time performance and ability to achieve the desired 30-minute service frequency, reduce congestion during commute hours, and reflect riders’ demand for these two stops.

Starting February 15, the shuttle service will run 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., seven days a week with 30-minute intervals on weekdays and 1-hour intervals on weekends and holidays.
Additionally, the shuttles will operate on a clock-face schedule providing riders with more predictable service frequency and times. For example, if riders know a weekday Gray route shuttle arrives at the Civic Center at 10:40 a.m., they will also know the next shuttles will be along at 11:10, 11:40 a.m., 12:10, 12:40 p.m., etc. until 5:40 p.m. Monday through Friday.

On weekends and holidays, that same shuttle would always arrive at 44 minutes past the hour (so 10:44, 11:44, 12:44, etc.).
Signs about the route and schedule changes have been posted at all shuttle stops, and the new schedule may be viewed and downloaded from MVCommunityShuttle.com. Printed versions of the new route and schedules are available at all current locations where schedules may be found, including City facilities and on the shuttles themselves.
Furthermore, the Mountain View Community Shuttles have new interior panels with simplified maps for easier wayfinding and a list of on-board features, such as free WiFi and bicycle racks.
City and shuttle program staff say they will be monitoring the success of these changes through online feedback, telephone hotline calls, an upcoming survey this Spring, and several outreach activities planned throughout 2016.
The results of this feedback, as well as potential new service and routing modifications, will be presented to the Mountain View City Council before the end of 2016.
