Police Blotter: Buttock Grabbing, a Masked Suspect and Stolen Tires
The Mountain View Police Department responded to various reports of crime on March 16 and 17th. Here's a sampling.

Information about a burglary from Mar. 16 reported at 11:07 p.m. was not yet available. Calls on March 17 in Mountain View included two for missing persons, who were later found.
Attempted Robbery
- On Mar. 16, 2013 at 9:42 p.m. at the 7-Eleven located at 276 N. Whisman Rd., the store clerk was cleaning something in the back area when he noticed the suspect enter the store. The suspect wore a hoodie and a dark-colored bandana that covered his face. The clerk thought that he was about to be robbed and begins to take off running through the aisles inside the store. The suspect, who appeared to allegedly have a dark-colored handgun, begins to run after the clerk. The clerk runs outside the store into the parking lot. The suspect follows. Surveillance video shows suspect running after the clerk with what looks like a handgun in his hand, according to the Mountain View Police Department. Two people who arrived at the 7-Eleven saw someone flee with a gray hoodie possibly black bandana. Nothing appears to have been taken, according to the police. The subject is described as being in his mid-20s to 30s—but because of bandana it's hard to determine—medium built and under 6 feet tall. No arrest has been made.
Assault

- At about 7:28 p.m. on March 16, a man calls the MVPD to report a battery stating that the security at Monte Carlo had attacked him. When the police arrived, the security staff told them that the man had allegedly grabbed the buttocks of a woman and then challenge security to a fight. Security told the MVPD, that the man appeared intoxicated. The security staff acknowledged that they held the suspect back in a bear hug, police said. However, the suspect then left the area and eventually called the MVPD. He didn't return. The female victim did not want to cooperate. No arrest has been made.
Petty Theft
- On March 16 at 1:30 a.m. on the 200 block of Hockney Avenue, an unknown suspect allegedly stole four new Continental tires collectively worth $848. According to the police, the homeowner had left them unsecured on his front porch. Witnesses allegedly saw the suspect go to the residence and place the tires in a vehicle, possibly a Volkswagon Jetta, and drive away. The witnesses called the police. The homeowner confirmed that the tires had been stolen.
