Where to Celebrate St. Patrick's Day in Mountain View

It's the one day a year when everyone is Irish. Where will you sport your emerald green spirit?

Francesca's, 2135 Old Middlefield Way

  • Dave Abbott Band performs on Saturday, Mar. 16 from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m. No cover.

Molly Magees, 241 Castro St.

  • One of two Irish pubs on Castro Street, the owners of Molly Magees have stocked up on Jameson and Guinness for St. Patrick's Day. They do not serve food.

Savvy Cellar, 750 W. Evelyn Ave.

  • Celebrate St. Paddy's day with their popular green wine flight from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. Cost: $16 tasting; $8 for members.

Sports Page Bar and Grill, 1431 Plymouth St.

  • The Shoreline Boulevard favorite will host festivities on Friday, Mar. 15 when they'll serve up corned beef and cabbage, and of course green beer.
  • Green beer and Guinness available again on St. Patrick's Day starting at 11:45 a.m.
     

St. Stephen's Green

  • The second Irish pub on Castro Street, St. Stephen's opens on St. Patrick's at 7 a.m. for Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) Club finals with breakfast served till 9:30 a.m.
  • Then patrons can stay for green beer all day, served up with Irish dishes. There will also be lots of Guinness.
  • Rosin the Bow performs from 3 p.m. until 7 p.m., followed by a DJ at 9 p.m.

Tied House Cafe and Brewery, 954 Villa St.

  • For St. Patrick's Day, Mountain View's very own brewery is offering to sell you green beer kegs in 5 gal., 7.5 gal. and 15.5 gal. sizes. But you have to call the restaurant at 650-965-2739 to place your order.
  • As is tradition, Tied House will offer corned beef and cabbage and green beer, plus $1 Jello shots.

Zen Lounge, 257 Castro St.

  • One of downtown Mountain View's nightclubs, Zen will open on Sunday, Mar. 17 at 6 p.m. and close at 2 a.m.
  • Drink specials include $3 Guinness, $4 Jameson and $6 Irish Car Bombs.

If you party and plan to drink, be responsible and have a sober driver. If not, have money for a taxi. Check back for a list of local cab services.
