MURRIETA, CA — Six people were displaced Tuesday when their home caught fire in Murrieta, fire officials tell Patch. The blaze broke out around 9:45 a.m. in the 24000 block of Jacarte Drive, near California Oaks Road and Hancock Avenue.
Murrieta Fire & Rescue crews were called to the scene and found the home's garage was "fully involved" with fire, officials say. By 10:15 a.m., the six engines and one truck that responded to the scene had contained the flames to the garage, with some extension into the residence. The fire was declared fully controlled at 12:41 p.m.
As a result of the damage, two adults and four children were being assisted by the American Red Cross, the fire department said.
