Brush Fire Burns 250 Acres In RivCo Sunday

A rapidly growing brush fire burned 250 acres in Riverside County Sunday afternoon.

MORENO VALLEY, CA — Firefighters were battling a rapidly growing brush fire Sunday that burned at least 250 acres east of Moreno Valley.

The fire was reported around 1:10 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Gilman Springs Road and Alessandro Boulevard, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

Additional aircraft help was requested as the fire was burning in an area that was difficult for ground units to access.

At the initial time of report, the fire was estimated at 77 acres.

No injuries or evacuations were immediately reported.
