PERRIS, CA — On Monday, over 100 elementary school students in the Val Verde Unified School District received Christmas gifts, enjoyed holiday treats, took pictures with Santa Claus, and laughed with the Grinch in Perris, during an annual event organized by the district's police department.

The eighth annual Val Verde District Police Department "Grinchmas Party" was slated for the morning of Dec. 22 at the school district's administration building.

"This festive holiday event is dedicated to spreading joy and holiday cheer to students in our community," according to an agency statement. "During the event, more than 100 students will receive special holiday gifts."
