Perris Fatal Shooting Investigation Underway

Deputies were sent to the 300 block of Third Street at 8:50 p.m. Sunday on a report of gunshots heard in the area, the RivCo Sheriff's say.

PERRIS, CA — An investigation was continuing Monday into the fatally shooting of a man in Perris.

Deputies were sent to the 300 block of Third Street at 8:50 p.m. Sunday on a report of gunshots heard in the area, according to the Riverside County Sheriff's Department.

"When deputies arrived, they located a male suffering from gunshot wounds," according to the sheriff's department. "Deputies rendered medical aid and checked the surrounding area for additional victims, but none were found."

The wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he died. He was not immediately identified.
